1946 Advertisement - Clear Pyrex Ware 

This bridal-themed magazine advertisement is from the Saturday Evening Post, dated May 25 1946.

At the time, cake pans were offered in just one size, and only with a round shape.  Square pans would return in the spring of 1947.  Rectangular utility dishes were available in two sizes.  Although it is not listed here, the price of a small utility dish was 50¢.

It suggests that Pyrex is the perfect gift for weddings.  According to newspaper social columns, some brides were fortunate enough to enjoy a bridal shower based entirely on Pyrex products.
