1974 Advertisement - Corelle Livingware, featuring Hook-Handle Cups & Old Town Blue

This particular page is from the December 1974 edition of Family Circle magazine, but the same advertisement also was used in 1973.  The newest pattern, Old Town Blue is featured prominently as well as the other patterns available at the time:  Winter Frost White, Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue and Spring Blossom Green.

Selling points of the new style of cup were its compact stackability and how it can protect men's fingers, oddly enough.  The latter is hardly the real reason for the cup's design, but it makes a persuasive sales pitch, perhaps.

A close-up of the lower left corner shows it is Snowflake Blue stacked haphazardly in the dishwasher.  It seems that not all patterns carried the same price tag; there is a $5 gap between the low-end and the high-end.  Winter Frost White usually sold for less than the other patterns, and the photo at the top implies that Old Town Blue was offered at the higher price point.
