1983 – Pyrex Livingware 2 Cups (extra-white)
(7-8 oz) Available Patterns: Colonial Mist, Solitary, Floral Spray, Oriental Wood, Holly Days.
L-R: Floral Spray, Colonial Mist, Solitary.
The Livingware 2 product line was introduced in 1983 with a Pyrex cup that was unique in style and composition. It is certainly opal Pyrex, but the glass is more opaque and whiter than usual, possibly even a brighter white than Corelle itself. For patterns still available in 1986, this cup style was dropped in favour of Suprema mugs. It was also included in the 1986 version of Holly Days. Opal Pyrex ceased production soon afterwards.
These cups usually have the Corning brand on them, but they are made of Pyrex and have the "No Stovetop or Broiler" warning embossed on the bottom. Like regular opal Pyrex, this extra-white version is also safe for the microwave.
The backstamp reads "CORNING ... Corning NY USA ... Microwave Safe ... No Stovetop or Broiler". It is unclear whether any cups of this type are marked with the Pyrex brand name.
There are no cream & sugar sets corresponding with this cup style.
