Pyrex Flared Mugs
L-R:  Slate, Cobalt, Cinnamon, Holly Days.

This particular combination of shape and composition were used for only a few patterns.  It was first seen with the launch of the Dimension IV product line in 1979.  This line included Citrus, Almond, Slate etc. and the decoration of the mugs was simply a solid colour which matched the coloured bands on the Corelle dinnerware.

Starting in 1986, this shape made the transition to Suprema glass-ceramic which is always branded with 'Corning'.  This can be a source of confusion because these mugs in Pyrex can be Older Backstamp Pyrex Flared Mug marked with 'Corning' too, as well as using the Pyrex and Corelle brands.  But the same approach to the backstamp applies here; if the stamp appears in embossed lettering and says ‘No Stovetop or Broiler’ then it is made of Pyrex.

One possible backstamp reads ‘Pyrex…Microwave Safe…No Stovetop or Broiler…Corning NY Newer Backstamp Pyrex Flared Mug USA’.  The other stamp says ‘Corning…Corning NY USA…Microwave Safe…No Stovetop or Broiler’.  If one of these stamps is older than the other, the 'Pyrex' stamp could be older than the 'Corning' one.  The third backstamp (not pictured) reads 'Corelle by Corning...Corning, N.Y., U.S.A....Not for Broiler or Stovetop Use'.

Although the backstamp does not mention it, this shape does have a model number: 3610.
