Pyrex 1410 mugs date to about 1964 or 1965, but they did not appear with Corelle patterns until 1975.  They were last available in 1985.

As Pyrex Compatibles, 1410 mugs were usually sold separately in sets of four as an optional accessory.  Around 1978, a few 16-piece Corelle sets appeared with a 1410 mug in place of the usual cup & saucer, but these sets were certainly in the minority.  Patterns from the Summer Impressions line are another exception, and these 12-piece sets routinely included 1410 mugs rather than cups & saucers.

1410 mugs are always made of Pyrex.  Although it is true that the oldest examples are marked instead with the company name "Corning", what is most informative Pyrex 1410 mug backstamp, older & newerabout the stamp is the way it looks, not the name on it.

The model number is found on the bottom, and newer ones, from mid to late 1970s onward, state the capacity as 300 ml.  This converts to over 10 oz, contradicting the original package which stated 9 oz, itself a slight exaggeration.  Nine ounces fills it to the very top; in practice it holds just less than that.

The older stamp says simply: "No. 1410 … PYREX … Microwave … USA".  The newer stamp says: "1410 300 ml … PYREX … For Oven and Microwave … No Stovetop or Broiler … Corning NY USA".

Creamers & Sugar Bowls:

The first style of Cream & Sugar set was made of Pyrex and it was also part of the Compatibles range.  The set was introduced sometime during 1972 or 1973, and remained available until mid 1975 when Pyrex creamers & sugar bowls were replaced by the open handle Corelle type.

These Pyrex shapes were borrowed from the restaurant ware line, and both pieces are quite small, holding about 6 oz.  The sugar bowl is marked "Corning" with the glass-blower logo, and came with a clear glass flat lid.  The creamer is usually marked "Pyrex Brand Tableware" with a model number of 722.  It could also be branded as "Corning".

Available Patterns:  Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.
