Pattern Profile: Chestnut, Indigo, Dusk (1986) ... plus: Meadow Green, Allegro
Launched as part of the Livingware line in 1986, Chestnut, Indigo and Dusk are derivatives of the Dimension IV patterns. Chestnut is the coupe version of Cinnamon, Indigo is the coupe version of Slate, and Dusk is the coupe version of Onyx. Dusk was available only as a large 32 piece set while Chestnut and Indigo came as 16 piece sets. For this reason, it is possible that luncheon plates and 10 oz dessert bowls could be non-existent for Dusk.
Although they seem nearly identical to Dimension IV in terms of decoration, these newer patterns are distinguishable primarily by the shape of the plates and the composition of the mugs. The new Suprema mugs included in these sets have the same flared style as the Pyrex mugs, but they are white with a striped design. Another distinction is the number of bands on the coupe bowls; the 10 oz and 18 oz bowls are decorated with only a single coloured band. It appears that the serving bowls and platters show the full pattern, and would be the same as those sold with Dimension IV sets.
Dusk was discontinued late 1986 or early 1987. Definite ending dates are not known for Chestnut or Indigo, but both disappeared from the market between 1987 and 1992.

There are two additional patterns in the coupe shape with coloured bands in the same style as the others: Meadow Green and Allegro. Meadow Green, with a Sandstone background, has one wide band and one very thin band, both green. Allegro has two slate blue bands, one wide and one very thin.
Both of these patterns are known to have been current in 1995, however the launch date is less certain, but it must be between 1993 and 1995. Details about available pieces have been elusive as well. But a basic set usually consists of: Dinner Plate, Bread & Butter Plate, Soup/Cereal Bowl, and Mug. At a minimum, these are the pieces one would expect to find; it is not known whether dessert bowls, serving bowls or platters exist. The 18 oz bowls for both patterns are decorated with two bands, same as the plates.
The final year for these two patterns may have been 1995. However in 2008 Allegro was again available in basic 16 piece sets, including the same place settings as described above. Since Suprema mugs are no longer made, the new sets include an 11 oz solid-coloured stoneware mug in dark blue.

Except where noted, these patterns have a white background and the decoration consists of one wide band and one narrow band on the rim. The dominant colour on the wide outer band is listed first.
