Pattern Profile: English Ivy, Melody, Quintet (1986) 

English Ivy, Melody and Quintet were launched early 1986 as part of the Livingware line.  With an air of simplicity, each of these one-colour designs depicts floral clusters with bands on the rim.  English Ivy is sage green with a flowering vine, Melody in a rich brown has three groups of daffodils, and Quintet in slate blue shows five repetitions of flowers with an unusual non-circular band.  The bowls and oval platters are decorated on the rim with only a single coloured band.

English Ivy and Quintet were available only as large 32 piece sets while Melody came as a 16 piece set.  For this reason, it is possible that luncheon plates, 10 oz dessert bowls, serving bowls and oval platters could be non-existent for English Ivy and Quintet.  

Melody was discontinued sometime between 1987 and 1992, but an exact ending date is not known.  English Ivy and Quintet were dropped late 1986 or early 1987.

At the time these patterns were launched, the Livingware line was mainly comprised of the group of one-colour patterns which had been known as the Sunrise Collection previously.  The re-naming of the line coincides with the elimination of the opal Pyrex cups and accessories and the adoption of Suprema flared mugs.
