Pattern Profile: Bayscape, Sandscape, Skyscape (1985)

Bayscape, Sandscape and Skyscape were launched together within the new Natural Images product line in 1985.  With Sandstone backgrounds, they are decorated with broad bands of colour borrowed from nature.  Differing from the other patterns of Natural Images, the plate style is the distinctively rimmed CornerStone shape, but with the regular Corelle thickness instead of the extra heft that genuine CornerStone patterns had at the time.

Sandscape, Skyscape, Bayscape; three plate sizes
Sandscape side plate, Skyscape luncheon plate, Bayscape dinner plate.

Common to all three patterns is a narrow outer band of brown on the very edge of each piece.  Platters, bowls, mugs and cups are decorated only with this brown band, so these items do not belong to one individual pattern, they are shared by all three.

Bayscape was discontinued early 1986, less than a year after its introduction, and Skyscape disappeared late 1986 or early 1987.  An exact ending date for Sandscape is unknown, but it was dropped sometime between 1987 and 1992.
