Pattern Profile:
Sunshine (1981); Blueberry, Ginger, Honeydew (1983)

Sunshine was introduced in 1981 as one of four patterns in the new Traditions Livingware line.  Patterns in this grouping were the first to come with opal Pyrex round bottom cups and large cream & sugar sets.  Bowls, saucers and oval platters are decorated on the rim with a single lime green band.

Traditions was a short-lived product line and all patterns, including Sunshine, were discontinued at the end of 1983.  This pattern was designed by artist Candace Faber.

In 1983 the same design appeared in three other colour choices which were grouped together as the Summer Impressions product line.  They are one-colour patterns and include: Blueberry (dark blue), Ginger (rust-brown), and Honeydew (lime green).

Blueberry cup and saucerSimilar to Sunshine, bowls & saucers are decorated on the rim with a single coloured band, but this time, platters are patterned.  Normally, boxed sets came with 1410 mugs, but cups & saucers also could be obtained in Blueberry & Ginger through a special offer that did not include Honeydew.

Blueberry, Ginger & Honeydew were offered through a supermarket continuity program where shoppers purchase and collect stamps or lay-away certificates.  Twenty stamps could be redeemed for a full 12 piece set, or 9 piece or 5 piece completer sets.  These three patterns were still available in 1985 which was probably their final year of production.
