Pattern Profile: Sunshine (1981) ... plus: Blueberry, Ginger, Honeydew (1983)
Sunshine is a two-colour geometric floral design, introduced in 1981 as one of four patterns in the new Traditions Livingware line. The bowls, saucers and oval platters are decorated on the rim with only a single lime green band. The patterns in the Traditions line were the first to come with opal Pyrex round bottom cups and large cream & sugar sets.
Traditions was relatively short-lived and all patterns, including Sunshine, were discontinued at the end of 1983. This pattern was designed by artist Candace Faber.

Unusually, this exact design was made in three other colour schemes, and these were grouped together as the Summer Impressions product line. They are one-colour patterns and include: Blueberry (dark blue), Ginger (rust-brown), and Honeydew (lime green). Normally these sets came with Pyrex 1410 mugs instead of cups & saucers. Similar to Sunshine, the bowls are decorated on the rim with only a single coloured band, but the platters this time are patterned.

Blueberry, Ginger and Honeydew were introduced in 1983 as part of a supermarket continuity program where shoppers purchase and collect stamps, or lay-away certificates. Twenty stamps could be redeemed for a full 12 piece set, or 9 piece or 5 piece completer sets. For these three patterns, this promotion might have been their only method of purchase. They were still available in 1985, which was probably the final year of production.

Others:
One manufacturer has produced their own version of Ginger. Termo-Rey opal glass dinnerware by Brasividro is an unofficial product and close comparison with the genuine Corelle pattern will reveal variations in the design. So far, no glassware has surfaced which would match any of these four patterns. Please see the 'Other Manufacturers' menu at the left side of this page.
