Corning Ware Profile: Designer Casseroles

Corning Ware Designer Casserole, Meadow
2½ Quart Designer Casserole in Meadow.

This style of casserole was made for the first four Expressions patterns: April, Blue Heather, Indian Summer, Meadow, plus undecorated White.  There is also a 1½ Quart casserole which is more shallow, with the same circumference at the top.  So both sizes use the same Pyrex lid, marked "DC 1 1/2-C".  The wide tab handles are incompatible with the black detachable Corning Ware handles.

The style of the French White line, from about 1980, is derived from these shapes, and the F-6-B (1.8L) and F-2-B (2.8L) in French White are equivalent to the DC-1 1/2-B and DC-2 1/2-B in the Designer series.  These French White pieces also share this same lid.

Not perfectly oval, it is more of a rounded rectangle, strictly speaking.
